IrisCTF 2023 Author Writeups Coming Soon
I’m a bit delayed in the authorship of my IrisCTF 2023 author writeups currently while I’m busy getting screwed over by the wonders of the boring capitalist dystopia I live in. We ended up archiving the entire competition to a static page, so you can see everything at 2023.irisc.tf. Next week, I will have the following writeups authored and published to both my website and my team website:
- Forensics / babyforens
- Forensics / Now Where Could My Flag Be?
- Forensics / Cherry MX Blues
- Networks / babyshark
- Networks / wi-the-fi
- Networks / Needle in the Haystack Secure
- Networks / MICHAEL
- Radio Frequency / babyrf 1
- Radio Frequency / babyrf 2
- Radio Frequency / monke
I will not be authoring writeups for the following challenges, as they were unsolved and I encourage anybody trying these challenges post-event to continue pushing without being tempted by the answers:
- Forensics / Strange Evasion
- Radio Frequency / babyrealrf
- Radio Frequency / backpack
- Radio Frequency / Here In My Garage
If anyone has completed these, please contact me on Discord at skat#4502 (via the IrisCTF Discord, see the Discord widget on 2023.irisc.tf). If you’re attempting these and would like hints, please also feel free to reach out to me for a nudge in the right direction. After each unsolved challenge has been blooded, I will release my associated author writeup with the intended solution.
I apologize for my latency in the authorship of these writeups. I’ve been focusing primarily on some projects that I need to knock out soon. I desperately need to get these off the ground before my savings fund depletes to the zone where I will have to begin searching seriously for a job. Because I was recently reminded of how expensive healthcare is in Uncle Sam’s good ol’ star-spangled United States, my time left to work on my projects full-time has depleted tremendously, so my priority has been more so on my projects than it has been on these writeups. Hope you understand.
My current priorities are Rice Cooker and Omurice, which will be the building blocks for my upcoming OS project. CyberTrace is going to go from being just a proof-of-concept to a fully-fledged IDS/IPS/SIEM solution soon. HackerPass is being rebranded to Badger and I have very limited time to work on that – the deadline is coming up soon. Lots of projects to get off the ground. Very little time left for me financially. If all goes well, I can begin setting up shop, securing seed funding, and accelerate, but I need time to myself to focus on these endeavours.
Happy hacking!
